Book Report: Hardy Boys

Greg's assignment, in March 2004: Write a book report on a mystery, doing it up as a newspaper, with interviews, pictures and advertisements.

Hardy Boys Catch Jamison and Reed

The Hardy Boys have stopped Brady Jamison from stealing jewels that belonged to the Reed Family for 60 years.

Heather Reed was in on the situation with Jamison. She and Jamison had made a deal to find and steal the jewels hidden in a cave down the beach from the Runner's Harbor hotel.

Frank and Joe Hardy discovered that Brady Jamison had been posing as the ghost of Wiley Reed, the founder and owner of Runner's Harbor, and also the man who hid the jewels in the first place.

For those of you who don't know Frank and Joe Hardy, they are not detectives working for a local police station - they're not private eyes, either. They are basically caring citizens who try to figure out mysteries and see what it is that is going wrong.

Brady Jamison will soon be going to jail, thanks to the Hardy Boys. Let's hope they can solve their next case.

Interview: The Hardy Boys

Reporter Greg Loftus got to have an interview with the two detective heroes, Frank and Joe Hardy.

This is what Greg's "front page" book report looked like.

Question: Was this one of your harder mysteries or one of your easy ones?

Answer: Frank: First of all, Greg, no mysteries are easy to solve. Some easier than others, but none are easy.

Joe: And yes, this would probably be one of our harder mysteries.

Q: Joe, were you upset when you found out that Heather Reed was in on this crime?

A: Well, you see, I thought I had fallen in love with Heather - and I still think I am in love with her. But I wouldn't say I was upset - more shocked than upset.

Q: Are you upset with Callie Shaw for bringing you down to Runner's Harbor?

A: Frank: Well, we were upset with her for bringing us down to a haunted hotel with a ghost, but if it weren't for her dragging us down here then we wouldn't have found out what Jamison and Reed were up to and we wouldn't have busted them. Therefore, I'm glad she dragged us down here.

Q: Did you believe the ghost was real?

A: Joe: I think I can speak for my brother here, too: I have never believed in ghosts. Frankly, not only was I trying to figure out what the ghost was doing around here, but also who the ghost really was.

Q: When you first met Brady Jamison, did you suspect anything of him?

A: Frank: We didn't think that he was all that important, but we did suspect him, a little bit. And look at where our suspicions led us.

Greg Loftus: Thanks for the interview.

Frank and Joe Hardy: Oh, no problem.
