Campaigning for Office:
Greg's Student Council Speech

Delivered in late October, 2003. (Greg won, by the way.)

I want to run for Student Council because it is very important that every single class in school gets the information they need on assemblies, fundraisers, and other things like that. I want them knowing where to go or what to do.

It's not just a way to be cool, it's a school service.

The Student Council is an important job to have. That's why I want you to know how important this job is. If you think I'm just saying this - you're wrong. If you agree with me, I hope you mean it.

If this speech encourages you, you might run for Student Council next year. I hope the other candidates agree with what I just said. If I'm elected, I'll do my best, and this is why I want to run for Student Council. I'd be happy to get your vote.
